A pay-per-day applicant tracking software is being launched by BrightMove, a provider of cloud-based recruiting software. This software is designed for small businesses and seasonal hirers who work regularly with temporary workers, freelancers, and consultants, or who have cyclical hiring needs. While the product is in its infancy, it’s yet another sign that the gig economy is here to stay.

The costs to use the software depend on the number of active jobs, number of users, career portal usage, and the necessary amount of storage for applicants, contacts, and jobs.

Daily costs of the software will include:

  • $0.25 per portal
  • $0.25 per user
  • $0.10 per block of storage for applicants, contacts, and jobs (each block can hold up to 1,000 of each)
  • $0.05 per job

Typically, traditional applicant tracking requires annual subscriptions. However, BrightMove’s creators say that its pay-per-day software is the first of its kind.

David Webb, BrightMove’s cofounder and CEO, said in a statement, “There’s such growth in small staffing companies and independent recruiters that could use what (applicant tracking software) offers to help make them successful.”

With 75% of hiring managers utilizing applicant tracking or recruiting software, BrightMoves’ software will not go unnoticed. It was developed with small businesses in mind, wanting to provide the same tools that larger enterprises have access to.

The beta version of the Essential Plan was offered by BrightMove in February. TalentYeti, a Jackson-based staffing company founded in the beginning of 2017, was one of the first companies to try the software.

“We are literally using it to run our business on a day-to-day basis,” said John Perton, TalentYeti cofounder and managing partner.

Perton commented on how the Essential Plan has let to more candidates while lowering the cost, with the daily candidate count tripling. The new software allows underserved markets to increase productivity while remaining conscious of their budgets.

With about 95% of corporate information existing in paper form, it’s easy to lose important documents. Companies are slowly but surely making their way from paper applications and files over to digital management software solutions.

Kooky Canuck is one of the establishments using BrightMove to assist in improving their hiring process. The restaurant management knew they had to move their employment searches online, and found BrightMove as a cost-effective way to do so.
